CEU CERTIFICATES FOR LICENSED TEACHERS & EDUCATORS - Up to 7 hours of clocktime!

When leaving the 2015 EXPO, the licensed teachers and educators will be able to obtain a CEU Certificate valued from 1-7 clocktime hours (representing the time spent in the workshops and researching curriculum-based field trips and school programs) - at no charge.

8 am        2014 EXPO Doors Open to the PROVIDER MARKETPLACE in the Minnesota History Center

                -  Attendees, please sign in at the EXPO Check-In Table at the main entrance of the History Center.

                - Take your time going through the PROVIDER MARKETPLACE - Research is an important part of education - CEU clocktime available

                - There will be food available all day long at Cafe Minnesota on the first floor (scroll down for more information regarding Cafe Minnesota)

                - Exhibitor Drawings: Most exhibitors are offering drawings for valuable giveaways! Don’t miss the EXPO Grand Prize Drawings at 3pm, either!

10:30 am - WORKSHOPALIGNING FIELD TRIPS & SCHOOL PROGRAMS WITH EDUCATION STANDARDS • CEU clocktime available

          1. -For experienced, new and student teachers: A multi-disciplinary panel will discuss best practices for aligning activities with standards

  1.                         - What to expect and how to prepare for Field Trips and School Programs

          1. -Facilitator: Doug Paulson, Curriculum Specialist, MN Department of Education

  2. 1 pm -      WORKSHOP • GRANT RESOURCES • Ways to fund field trips & school programs • CEU clocktime available

          1. -Panel discusses ways for educators to fund activities and field trips (i.e. transportation grants, crowdfunding, traditional fundraising, etc)

          2. -Facilitator: Katie McKee, School Programs, Minnesota Historical Society

  3. 2 pm -      WORKSHOP • HOMESCHOOLING IN MINNESOTA • From requirements to curriculum to co-ops • CEU clocktime available for educators

                        - What is required to homeschool in Minnesota?

                        - Do I need to be a certified teacher?
                        - How do I find and assess curriculum?

                        - What about homeschool co-ops & support groups?

                    Presented by Jayne Wahlberg, homeschooling pioneer, mother, consultant, founder/administrator of a Twin Cities homeschool    

                    organization consisting of more than 225 families in the Twin Cities. This organization will be beginning its twentieth year in 2015.

3 pm -   THE “3 at 3” Grand Prize Drawings • You must have REGISTERED ONLINE before the EXPO, and attended the EXPO.

                        3 Drawings... Attendees don’t need to be present to win • Meet in the classroom area (2nd floor) at 3pm.

                        - #1 Grand Prize for Schools & Education Organizations, Libraries
                        - #2 Grand Prize for Homeschoolers, Homeschool Co-ops, Youth Organizations, Park & Recreation Departments, Tour Operators

SNACKS, LUNCH and MEALS:

No outside food or beverage is to be brought into the Minnesota History Center during the 2015 EXPO.

In addition to Cafe Minnesota seating, there are tables & chairs on the patios outside. Entry to both patios is on 2nd floor.


CAFE MINNESOTA at the Minnesota History Center will be open from 8am-3pm

                    8am-11am • EXPRESS STATION

                        Bakery items, fruit, salads, yogurts, deli sandwiches, desserts, coffee, soda & juices

                   11am-1:30pm • LUNCH (includes options for gluten-free & vegetarian selections)

                        Cucina Station • pasta & pizzas

                        Chefs Entree • special of the week

                        Grill • burgers, chicken breast, turkey burger, veggie burger, grill special, chicken strips

                        Soup & Salad Bar
