OBSERVE • INTERACT • ENGAGE • LEARN at Minnesota’s Hands-On Living History Festival!
Thousands of students come every year from all over the midwest to experience American history that COMES ALIVE at one of America’s “Top 100 Festivals” (American Bus Association). Dozens of programs support MN K-12 education standards in the areas of the arts, languages, science & STEM, math and social studies. Entire classes and schools welcome.

Hundreds of re-enactors from all over the United States authentically re-create American history from different eras. Presidents, cowboys, fur traders, Canadian revolutionary war soldiers, Native Americans, civil war soldiers, and even day-to-day citizens (blacksmiths, woodworkers, farmers, candlemakers, silversmiths, spinners, weavers, hunters and more) teach and entertain about the era they represent. Students can sift for gold, learn how to throw an axe, watch a real civil war cannon be fired, eat a variety of foods and much more.
