Experience life in the 1850’s Minnesota
All teachers and homeschooling parents are invited to consider Gammelgården a destination for hands-on learning. We’re happy to work with you to enhance your curriculum.
Field trips are available from May to mid October. Immerse your students in the immigrant/pioneer experience of the first Swedish settlement in Minnesota dating back to 1850, and give them the gift of living history! The day begins with an immigrant discussion in the Gathering Room of the Välkommen Hus followed by a full tour of all five historic buildings.
Picnic tables and playground are on-site and available to use for a picnic.
Pre-arrangements and reservations for tours can be made by calling 651-433-5053 or firstname.lastname@example.org at least 2 weeks in advance.
Admission for elementary age children is always free* at Gammelgården Museum!
Adult admission is $7.
*Additional activities may be added for a cost of $2.00 per child. Activities include games and crafts from the mid-1800’s. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the day on our grounds complete with playground, picnic area and bathrooms.
