Immerse your Students in the Immigrant Experience (1850’s )

See how the first Swedes in Minnesota lived, worked and played as your students tour the historic buildings and hear the stories of the families who lived and worked here. We’re happy to work with you to create a day that works for your students.

Immerse your students in the immigrant/pioneer experience of the first Swedish settlement in Minnesota dating back to 1850, and give them the gift of living history! The day begins with an immigrant discussion in the Gathering Room of the Välkommen Hus followed by a full tour of all five historic buildings. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the day on our grounds complete with playground, picnic area and bathrooms. Admission for elementary age children is always free* Adult admission is $7. *Additional activities may be added for a cost of $2.00 per child.
