LANDMARK CENTER | Uncle Sam’s New Deal Exhibit

During the Great Depression, New Deal programs sought to bring relief to America’s poor and stabilize its economy. Find out how at “Uncle Sam’s New Deal,” a returning exhibit at Landmark Center in its North Gallery on the first floor, running March 11th – April 25th.

“Uncle Sam’s New Deal” illuminates the Federal Government’s role in reviving Minnesota communities 80 years ago. As the Federal Building for the Upper Midwest, many of the New Deal programs were run out of the offices at Landmark Center for the state of Minnesota. New Deal programs brought relief to America’s poor and helped stabilize its economy. Find out how they revitalized Minnesota’s communities in this fascinating exhibit featuring photography, interviews, film footage and an interactive activity. This exhibit was created by Minnesota Landmarks in partnership with the Minnesota Historical Society as a traveling exhibit. Images provided by the Minnesota Historical Society.
