As a planner for your group travels and activities, you need advance planning time – sometimes months, even years – to discover, select and prepare for a bus tour, a field or day trip, or even an assembly or performance.

The Library offers 5 ways to plan – all of them are free-of-charge:

Take your copy of annually-printed full color publication (also available on our website for digital reading) to staff meetings or keep on your desktop for quick reference. Free of charge at select conferences and events. The Guide is also available free of charge by mail ($5 shipping & handling for one, S&H adjusted for quantities).

– CONFERENCES & EVENTS – Visit the Library Exhibit – Get a FREE Guide and more!

Hi! I’m Nicole. I grew up in a small town in Ellsworth (WI) on a farm. I have been a graphic designer for 19 years and am a mother of a 11 year old girl and a 7 year old boy who keep me a VERY busy mom! I enjoy photography, running and a rare date night with my husband! I am so excited to be part of Minnesota Field Trip Library! It is such a valuable resource for teachers and youth leaders to help them make their job easier! (Ideas for fun things on the weekend to do with my own children doesn’t hurt either.) I’m so glad to be a part of this exciting company and love having a role in helping the Library grow as a trusted resource!

Mark Peterson of Minnesota Field Trip Library

Founded by Mark Peterson

Bringing experience, knowledge, curiosity, and a heart for our kids & seniors

Mark brings a lifetime of marketing & communications, publishing, writing, consulting, and hands-on experience via the Minnesota Field Trip & Activity Library.

Mark is a 1968 graduate of Monticello (MN) High School. A graduate from the University of Minnesota (TC), Mark appreciates experiential learning, hence his interest in field trips and travel. There’s nothing like a good backstory that brings a destination (or even curriculum) to life! A personal highlight of this was in 1972 when Mark traveled with 70 other college students from throughout the United States in a summer-long Smithsonian archeological dig in northern Israel.

A love for travel, exploration and experiential learning led Mark from travel & tourism into the MN Field Trip & Activity Library. While in college he traveled throughout the United States from our nation’s capitol to our states and national parks. Through all this he became aware of the many destination gems we have right here in Minnesota… visiting them, learn their backstories, and meeting the people who put our attractions and destinations to life every day – whether on a family trip or during a leisure group tour. It’s been a wonderful time of discovery.

Mark’s participation and leadership in Minnesota tourism and the regional travel industry includes:

        • Past President and board member of Tour Minnesota Association, MN’s group travel industry organization.
        • Member of Twin Cities Tourism Attractions Association
        • Past member of the Governor’s MN Tourism Advisory Board

Mark resides with his wife of 30 years, Amy, in Plymouth, MN and have three wonderful (now adult) kids; Krista, Becca & Andy. In 2016 Mary & Amy completed the Circle Tour of Lake Superior, and dream they’ve had for many years.

If you have questions or suggestions about the MN Field Trip & Activity, you can contact Mark directly at 612-518-8353, or email him at mark@mnfieldtriplibrary.org.
