Field Trips

Field trips at Minnesota Children’s Museum of Rochester ignite imagination, fuel curiosity and spark creative thinking through immersive, hands-on activities. The museum’s self-guided visits allow students to explore interactive exhibits at their own pace and include a fun and interactive museum-led class.

Every field trip includes one of the following 35-minute classes facilitated by a Museum Educator for your field trip that fulfill MN state learning standards:

Hands-on Health

Exercise the mind and body through brain-boosting activities to help build knowledge of a healthy lifestyle focusing on movement, nutrition and hygiene.

Amazing ANTics

Engage busy brains and inspire collaboration while pretending to be an ant and help complete the work of different ants in a colony.

Community Faces & Places

Work together to plan, engineer and build a model of a healthy and thriving community that meets the needs of its citizens.

Dino Dig

Uncover the mystery behind dinosaurs by examining fossil replicas and asking questions to unearth the story about the life and habits of dinosaurs before extinction.

Traveling Exhibits

Young Architects – Now – June 9, 2019

This exhibit transports visitors into the role of architects as they design for the future. Use a variety of building materials to learn in a hands-on way and create unique masterpieces of your own! The space features pictures of famous architects and their iconic structures to provide inspiration.

The Amazing Castle – June 15 – September 22, 2019

As visitors explore The Amazing Castle and its eight themed areas, they are introduced to many storybook characters in the castle community who each have a special role. As they move through the castle, village visitors playfully explore the interconnectedness of community members in a setting inspired by fantasy and history!
