TARGET FIELD TOURS | Learning Through Baseball – Science at Target Field

In accordance with recommendations from the CDC, all Target Field tours (Public & Private) have been suspended through May 8. Please contact us for an immediate concerns.

The game of baseball is loaded with the principals of science. In this tour & class, participants will learn about the energy efficiency of Target Field, the physics and science of baseball, and much more. Students will learn how science plays a major part in America’s national pastime.

The Minnesota Twins Learning through Baseball Program is an educational experience that incorporates the beauty of Target Field with well organized tours, a knowledgeable staff, and an exceptional curriculum. The structure of the experience can be adjusted according to the levels and needs of the participating students and their teachers, and is designed with the Minnesota State Standards in mind. Our goal is to translate our love of baseball into an appreciation, understanding, and passion of the education underlying the sport.

There will be hands-on activities, such as reaction time, potential vs. kinetic energy, and the exciting opportunity to step up to the plate and take a swing inside a major league batting cage (when available)! This two-hour experience includes a tour of Target Field and a class session. Suitable age levels for “Science in Baseball” include primary grades to adults.
